My Summer Goal

June 26, 2009 at 10:06 pm (FILM)

So, as I’m trying to see all of the new movies that come out, I have a summer goal of movie watching. I have wanted to watch all of the 250 Top Movies rated by the users of IMDB, the Internet Movie Database. So, I printed of the list from this past Sunday ( the list changes with every rating pretty much; however, the highest-rated movies rarely change ) and decided that I would try to watch all of them. YES, all of them. So once printed, I highlighted all of the ones I had seen already and found that I had seen around half of them, which is pretty good, but I hadn’t see a lot of the older ones and the foreign ones.

So I decided that this time that I tried this (I tried once before) that I was going to do this and bought a subscription to NetFlix. I am serious about this! So I have already watched some this week. I watched A Streetcar Named Desire, which I had seen parts of but not the whole thing all the way through, Dr. Strangelove of How I learned to Love the Bomb, same thing, Chinatown, and On the Waterfront. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Chinatown- it was brilliant Film Noir and Jack Nicholson was super hot in it. I also really loved Streetcar and Waterfront. I always thought that Brando was a good actor, but I was just amazed by him in these two films. So good! Strangelove I wasn’t crazy about. Just not my thing.

So here’s the list- http://www.imdb.com/chart/top?tt0071315

How many have you seen? I’ll keep you updated on my progress. And I should see Transformers 2 and My Sister’s Keeper soon. Promise!
