New Moon Trailer- Crap or Awesomeness?

June 2, 2009 at 12:01 pm (BOOKS, FILM, HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP)

So Sunday night, The Twilight Saga: New Moon trailer premiered during the MTV Movie Awards. Here it is below.

So anyone who wasn’t been leaving under a rock knows about the Twilight movie. The first book was published in 2005 and since then three sequels have been published. (4 books in 4 years– they plan 4 movies in 4 years as well so good luck with that) As someone who read all of the Twilight, I can attest that they are just like crack- habit-forming and makes you feel so good. You literally cannot put them down and you feel guilty every second.

So when I heard that Twilight was being made into a film, I was excited and trust me, I was not the only one. As I mentioned in my first post, I used to work for a film festival. Well, last year, Mr. Edward Cullen himself, Robert Pattinson, made an appearance for a different movie and we had all sorts of fans come out, including Twimoms and Twihards. Maybe I should stop here to do a little vocab.

Twihards- Dedicated, 13-year-old girls who probably think that Edward is real and want to become vampires literally

Twimoms- Middle-aged women with children who are in love with a fictional character and want to be “Bella”

So when I actually saw Twilight (at midnight, I’m ashamed to say), I laughed out loud at the ridiculousness. (My roommates and I were laughing so hard that we were asked to stop or leave) It is pretty terrible, but then I thought about it and the book is rather terrible too so I guess I should have expected no less.

So, I don’t know what to expect from New Moon. Probably something terrible, but I can’t stop hoping that maybe the writers and director saw the last film and saw what I saw. But, this trailer looks like they haven’t. Plus,Β  I have no idea how they are going to this movie when Edward was barely in the book. It should be interesting what they do with the movie. Eh, doesn’t mean that I’m not going to still see it.

I’m a glutton for punishment. πŸ˜€

Yeah I’m skeptical about the part when they showed Jacob phase. They changed it from the book. That’s not supposed to happen on a grassy brown flat field. The wolf you can tell is no where near real. Computer animation which is bad since half the fourth movie is going to be from Jacob’s perspective while he is in wolf mode. Don’t know how that is going to work. I’m still hopeful though.

I know. It looks pretty ridiculous. Plus, I hate how they ignored the meadow in the first movie and it looks like Laurent is outside Jacob’s house in the trailer??? I get that somethings have to change but I don’t understand why they cut the meadow part. I got how they had to give Twilight a plot… which it didn’t really have in the book and that was fine. But I definitely had some problems with the changes.

I found this earlier today— a flip book of sorts of the end in Italy. It gives me a little bit more hope than the trailer. Here it is
